Community Acupuncture
Community acupuncture Fridays - coming soon - August 23, 2024

What is community acupuncture?

Community acupuncture provides reduced cost acupuncture in a semi-private setting. In a large room, up to three patients relax in reclining chairs that have been generously distanced from one another. After a brief intake, easily accessible points are needled and the patient rests for 30 - 45 minutes. These points may be on the front of the torso, from the elbow and knee down as well as on the face and neck. Dressing with loose fitted clothing is optimal as community acupuncture patients are not asked to remove any clothing to make points more accessible.

Who is it for?

Community acupuncture is open to any established patient of Cinnamon Twig Acupuncture.

What conditions are best treated in the community setting?

Many conditions can be treated in the community setting! Cinnamon Twig Acupuncture integrates the community style acupuncture for established patients as an effort to provide those experiencing chronic pain, requiring more frequent acupuncture treatments or seeking financial assistance or an affordable treatment option.

Who is community acupuncture not recommended for?

  • New patients must first attend a regular-private appointment.

  • Patients seeking treatment for lower back pain are best treated in a private appointment where the patient can disrobe and points local to the back and other modalities may be incorporated.

  • Fertility patients requiring a specialized treatment strategy.

  • Patients requiring additional modalities: TDP mineral heat lamp therapy, gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, electro/TENs acupuncture, tui na, dietary therapy, etc.

  • Patients who require a lengthy intake, wanting more time to discuss health goals or are sharing sensitive health information.

  • Preference for privacy or treatments that require disrobing.

How long is a session?
45 - 60 minutes.
